Educational Activation

The goal of an Activation is to teach letterpress to the community with a hands-on experience, typically outside of a regular academic setting.  HSP staff create a poster for guests to print on the press. For this design, I used two printing presses. The first and second layer was done on the SP 15,
a press from the 1940s made for newspapers. The second, easily portable press is called the Nolan press. Used for mom and pop shops in the early 1900s, we now take this press to the activation site to use with guests. I printed the yellow layer with guests on May 04th.
